Web hosting provider The Planet announced that they will maintain current dedicated server "Double Down" promotion. In addition to the current terms of the promotion, the company is also waiving its set up fee.

The company suggested the promotion extension was due to “exceptional customer response” and it goes on until February 29, 2008 or “while limited promotional supplies last”. The promotion offers “twice the RAM, hard-drive space or bandwidth at no additional cost on a select range of servers from the company’s broad portfolio”.

“Our most recent Double Down promotion received such great feedback that we’ve decided to extend it through the end of the month,” said Urvish Vashi, director of product management with The Planet. “This promotion is particularly popular because customers can have it their way by choosing to double the amount of RAM, disk space or bandwidth. Overall, they increase server performance at no additional cost.”

Double Down is one of a number of promotions currently offered by The Planet. These include “Tomorrow’s Technology Today” which offers the quad-core Kentsfield 3210 SATA at a 19% cost saving, the “Customer Exclusive” promotion which offers a 50% discount on various component and bandwidth upgrades for existing customers, and the Backup Blow-Out Sale which features a discount on The Planet’s dedicated server backup solution.
