Web hosting and managed services company, iomart Group plc, has been selected by a major telecom operator, to provide managed data center facilities, in a 5 year contract.

The contract is worth a minimum of 6.75m pounds, excluding the cost of power. Further revenues may be generated from the provision of additional managed services.

iomart entered the data center market in March 2007, with the purchase of 4 non operational data centres in London, Glasgow, Leicester and Nottingham. Following a refurbishment program, the company can now offer over 3,500m2 of high specification, secure and fully redundant data centre space. iomart is of the belief that it now holds a unique position in the managed services and hosting market, it that it can genuinely offer the 'one source' or 'end to end' approach.
