Registry operator for the .pro top-level domain RegistryPro has entered into a new data escrow partnership with technology escrow provider NCC Group to ensure the security of .pro registration information.

Under the agreement, RegistryPro will use high-level encryption to transfer its registry data securely over the Internet to NCC Group's servers on a daily schedule. NCC Group will then verify the format and consistency of the registry information in accordance with The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers' requirements and store the information in its data centers.

RegistryPro, a subsidiary of Web hosting provider Hostway (hostway.com), says that the .pro TLD is reserved for credentialed professionals, like licensed doctors, lawyers and accountants, who must meet confidentiality obligations when communicating online.
